Registration

If you are registering at One spark Academy, then you are assuming the overall education requirements for your child either as a registered private homeschool, or you are enrolled in a public homeschool program. Either way, you don’t have to do this alone!

One Spark Academy educators will provide the direct instruction, guided practice, assignments, and any independent work (as needed) in the education courses you sign up for. Your child will learn in a safe, distraction-free learning environment with like-minded peers.

If you need help with a Middle School curriculum (or want it provided!), there are many online curriculum options to choose from. As one example, Ivy Tech Charter School in Moorpark provides a comprehensive curriculum for 7th/8th grade students (and through high school).

If you need help understanding your homeschool options, log onto the California Homeschool Network web site and click on FAQ. This should answer most questions. http://californiahomeschool.net/

If enrolled in a homeschool partnership program or charter school, you should meet with them ASAP to establish a general course of study. Your child’s homeschool curriculum can be worked on during OSA’s Independent Study Sessions with help, if needed, by a supervising teacher. Students may bring in laptops and connect to free Wi-Fi for online programs.

So, now that you have that covered, here’s what to do:

Step 1: Select activities from Schedule of Courses, Session 3. Include Teen Center enrichment courses if registered and confirmed with CRPD.

Step 2: Sign up online (online sign up now disabled until Session 4 registration) to ensure space is available for preferred courses or email us directly if you have questions. You’ll get an email to ensure there’s space in your requested courses, then you can pay online* or send in payment with registration. If there is no room in some or all courses, you will be informed and can request to be added to a wait list for each class. *Mid-session enrollees should request a pro-rated course fee, which is not shown online.

Please note: do not pay registration fees until you are advised there is space in your requested courses.

Step 3: Complete One Spark Academy registration and SIGN WAIVER. (Complete other forms: Student agreement, math survey). Review Refund Policy. Make sure your child understands our philosophy and is proactively choosing to attend One Spark Academy courses.

Step 4: Register in person (if courses are in session), and/or pay online, or mail registration/required forms with check made out to One Spark Academy to:

501-I S. Reino Rd. #296, Newbury Park, CA, 91320.

A confirmation will be sent to your registered address.
