Help Our Cause: Wish List!
Depending on the number of courses your student registers for, it’s possible to attend One Spark Academy classes for little more than $31 a day, M-TH. That includes small group instruction, a healthy lunch option, supervision, and a genuinely healthy and safe learning environment with courses taught by experienced educators. Many classes will not exceed 10 participants.
We are looking into ways to make such small classes sustainable, but are totally self-funded so far. All of our registration fees pay for our educators, rent, food, materials, and other business expenses. As of yet, we haven’t a dime to spare. But we still love coming to work each day and seeing each student who has joined our community, be it for one class or several.
Here’s how you can help One Spark Academy right now:
- Volunteer to help with our next Giant Yard Sale on Saturday, Feb. 11. See the flyer here!.
- Volunteer to help in the kitchen on a specific day between noon and 2:00. With every new participant who joins us, efficient kitchen prep and clean up becomes a little more challenging.
- Help us set up or break down tables/chairs each day. We like to leave the place as we find it: neat and tidy.
- Reach out and connect with families and personally invite them to attend our events and read our website.
- Offer to take home our cloth napkins and kitchen towels on a specific day for laundering.
- Offer to take home our reusable plates/utensils on a weekend for an extra hot dishwasher run. (They MUST come back Monday morning)
Contribute Easy Stuff:
- Got fresh vegetables you are growing? We love seasonal produce. Contact Laura (laura@onesparkacademy.com) to let her know what it is and when it will come
- Cloth napkins and towels for daily use
- Cutting boards, pots and pans, cheese grater (see Laura for specific needs)
- Propane for our small camping stove
- Two good quality pencil sharpeners are needed. The ones we have sound like a chainsaw.
Wish List: Big Stuff We Would LOVE!
- Epson PowerLite 1835 Multimedia Projector
- Document Camera
- Digital Camera
- Gift Cards to Trader Joes, Whole Foods or Sprouts
- Donate a bit of money! Every little bit helps, and goes right where it counts. We are sorry that any donations are not tax-deductible yet. Having non-profit status is a goal.

Thank you to those of you that have been able to come in and help out in the kitchen! It really makes a difference on clean-up time and it is a lot of fun having you all around. If anyone has a music system that they would like to donate for the kitchen that would be great too! Music, healthy food, and smiles go a long way!
